  • Community Health (COVID-19 advisory) 4/2/20

    Posted April 2, 2020

    Hello Soccer Community,

    **Update 4/2/2020**

Please be advised that the Nantucket Soccer Club will be extending the suspension of all programing activities.  Per the directive of our parent organization the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association all affiliated and sanctioned soccer activities statewide through and including Sunday, May 3 shall be suspended due to the evolving COVID-19 situation. For our member organizations such as the Nantucket Soccer Club and other (towns, clubs and leagues) this includes but is not limited to: all games, all practices, clinics, training, tournaments, in-person meetings and coach education courses.  Including in-person referee education, group training, & club meetings.

Related to but not associated with the MA Youth Soccer decision, Please be advised that ALL Town of Nantucket fields (Nobadeer, Delta, Tom Nevers, Winter Park, etc.) and the Jetties Tennis courts will be closed until at least May 3rd.  The TON decision to reopen or continue to close the playing fields after May 3rd does not supersede the MA Youth Soccer closure.  This equates to NO Nantucket Soccer Club activities through May 3rd pending further directives.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work through these tough times.

We will be in constant communication with MA Youth Soccer as well as South Coast Soccer League and the Town of Nantucket as we navigate our programming options.  As soon as more information is available we will pass it along. Priority #1 remains the overall well being and safety of our players, referees, coaches, and island families.
